LeFlore Seniors, Family, and Friends
LeFlore Public Schools is pleased to announce that the Baccalaureate and Senior graduation date has been set. The Baccalaureate will be on June 27th at 1:00 in the new gym with the graduation following at 2:00. Following recommendations from the State Dept. of Ed, each graduate will be given 6 tickets to hand out to family members. Each ticket holder will have the opportunity to sit in chairs on the gym floor and all others must sit in the bleachers. Though this is not the ending that anyone would have expected for our seniors, we know that collectively we will create new memories that will be no less special or meaningful. I would like you to know that this decision was not made lightly by our administration and at this time our most important priority is the health and well-being of everyone involved. Saying this, we ask that each of you take it upon yourselves to decide whether to attend or not and to follow the safe practices that our federal and state government have advised which include wearing PPE such as masks and social distancing with people that are not within your immediate family! Additionally, we will be live streaming the ceremony on Facebook and recording it for those families that cannot or choose not to attend. Even in the midst of uncertainty, we have the power to conscientiously choose joy and celebration as the cornerstones of this very important time in our children’s lives. Rest assured, our future is in great hands as these students are our future leaders!
Sincerely,
Bill Neyman
LeFlore Superintendent

Wanted to let everyone know that because of covid safety at all sites the summer county league games that both the boys and girls are playing in will have no fans allowed and no concessions. So players to need be prepared to hydrate themselves. If buses choose to stop to and from games it will be a convenience store only. Thanks. Coach Beck

Athletes coming to open gym today to shoot, get a ball and go to the old gym. Don’t touch the new gym lobby and don’t touch the bleachers please. Go across the floor if needed.

HS boys summer league basketball will play these times on this Thursday June 4. HS girls will play next Tuesday with dates and site not yet determined. Other dates to follow soon. If anyone is planning to play that didn’t play last year they need to let coach Beck or Warren know.
Also reminder of physicals next Monday 9-12.

The gym will not be open today. We will open it tomorrow. There is painting in the gym right now. Sorry guys. Coach Beck.

Summer athletics.
Starting June 1 we will open facilities with provisions. No one with any symptoms or signs of being sick including a fever are not to attend in any way. I will open the gym next week from 9-11. Students are welcome to do individual work. Shooting, ball handling etc. There is to be no one on one or scrimmaging, pick up games of any kind. No group activities. If any student breaks this rule they will not be allowed to use the facilities for the rest of the summer. Baseball and Softball will be welcome after the 1st to use cages for hitting but once again social distancing should be used. Contact your coach about using the cages. Summer schedules will be put together after the upcoming OSSAA board meeting in June 8. At that time changes could be made.
Reminder that everyone needs a physical.
Thanks coach Beck
Please make sure we are following these guidelines for everyone’s safety.

We have the following pick up times for students and parents to come get their belongings. Please remember this is not a socialization time at the school. Your students belongings should all be on their desk. Please take those with you and drop off anything belonging to the school, textbooks, library books, uniforms, etc.

Just a quick reminder of sign ups for dr Ed ending tomorrow for Our Leflore students. Please contact coach Beck if you are wanting in the class. Starts June 4 and the $75 fee must be paid in advance.

We will be offering drivers ed this summer but it has to be done a little differently. The 30 classroom hours have to be done virtually. Because of this anyone taking the course will have to bale to access the internet for homework assignments and when we do things with zoom meetings. The driving will be done with 2 students in the car.
The cost is $75 for Leflore students and $120 for any students from other districts. Leflore students get first access. Cost must be paid up front at the school before classes start.
Anyone interested in the class or with questions need to email Mr Beck ASAP at dbeck@leflore.k12.ok.us
Classes will start June 4.
