Oklahoma Scholarship Competition
Oklahoma Hall of Fame Offers $770,000 in Scholarships for High School Students Across the State
OKLAHOMA CITY – January 23, 2024 – The Oklahoma Scholarship Competition is currently underway, offering more than $770,000 in cash scholarships and tuition grants for high school students in Oklahoma. Through the competition, students in grades 9 through 12 test their knowledge of Oklahoma history, geography and its people.
Registration is open through Friday, February 23, 2024, and can be accessed by going to OklahomaHOF.com. Registered students will take a one-hour, online exam in March. Students compete in the county in which they attend high school, and top scorers are awarded a cash scholarship or tuition grant to an accredited Oklahoma college or university. Each of Oklahoma’s 77 counties has at least ten $1,000 scholarships available; a full list of available scholarships can be found online.
“These scholarships make a significant impact on the ability for Oklahoma students to attend college. Funds are available to every high school student in the state, whether they live in rural or urban areas.” said Gini Moore Campbell, vice president at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. “We also hope that it encourages students to stay in-state to attend college.”
Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the Scholarship Awards Assembly on April 24 at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum. More information about the Oklahoma Scholarship Competition can be found online at OklahomaHOF.com under the Scholarships & Awards drop-down, and questions can be directed to Gini Moore Campbell at 405.523.3202 or gmc@oklahomahof.com.
