NOTIFICATION OF DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS
Notification of Destruction of Special Education Student Records for Former Students
Oklahoma State law requires that records generated by the Local Education Agency must be maintained for at least 5 years.
Pursuant to 34 CFR 300.624 Destruction of Information: On September 30, 2024 LeFlore Public Schools will destroy Special Education records generated prior to the 2018-2019 school year.
It has been determined that these records are no longer needed for educational purposes, and there are no outstanding requests by a parent or eligible student to review records.
Records may be picked up at LeFlore Schools. You will need a photo ID and to sign a form stating that you have picked up a confidential file. This can include the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student. The records may be requested in person or via email.
Please be advised that the records may be needed for social security benefits or other purposes. Records to be destroyed include:
Individual Education Programs (IEPs)
Evaluation Reports - Test Protocols
Review of Existing Data Summaries
All other personally identifiable information within the Special Education file

Fall student pictures will be August 28th. Proofs and ordering forms will be sent home in a couple of weeks. No money will be needed on the 28th.

The JH and HS baseball teams will be selling t-shirts, hoodies, and sweats. This is a great way to support our student athlete programs. If you would like to place an order, you can contact Coach Seagraves or any of the baseball players. You may also send this form and money with your child to school and turn it in to the classroom teacher. Thank you for your support.

Join us for our #BeASavage Back to School Bash on Monday at 5 PM in the new gym. Meet all the Teachers and Staff, and welcome our new school leaders. Just a reminder that physicals for 7th - 12th athletes are tomorrow, August 1st at 8:00am in the new gym. The cost is $10.00 and a parent is required to be with the student to sign forms for the physical.

Any student that will be driving to school this year, will need to see Mr. Smith on Tuesday, July 30 between 8:00 - 3:00. Students will need to bring their drivers license and insurance verification.

Enrollment Information
Kdg - 8th will not pre-enroll unless the student is new to the district. Pre-enrollment for new students will be July 31st 9am-1pm. Class
registration for 9th - 12th:
Seniors - July 29
- 9:00am
Juniors - July 29 - 10:30am
Sophomores - July 30 - 9:00am
Freshman
- July 30 - 10:30am

Please do not allow your child to contact Ms. Katie, or any school employee, via text or social media, as this goes against the guidelines of the new law concerning student/staff communications. Athletic Physicals will be held on August 1st at 8:00am. Cost will be $10 per student athlete. All OSSAA paperwork will be distributed then as well.

On July 11th, the softball and baseball teams will be hosting a fundraiser auction in the old gym, beginning at 5:30pm. There will be a fish fry and lots of items to bid on to help our teams. Come out and support our teams and enjoy a fun evening.

Starting Monday July the 8th, no traffic will be permitted on the school parking lot due to construction. We will inform you when it is back open.
